WEEK14-PAPER TEST

Today I did a paper prototyping with Mosse.because the project have dividing into 2 parts.one is website.another is the pattern which present on the screen and it changed by touching different tag.so I build two system to test how it works.
It comes some problems after the test.and the key issue for the next step is to clear the pattern with unique meaning.

Now I use the Tetris as my first pattern. one shape means one message,and it will drop down in the physical screen when someone post new message into website. There are small distinguishing between the surface of different blocks.It suppose to stand for some meaning or emotion of message.but I am not sure yet.

Some points of the Website:
1 How people present themself?
2 How to make the calendar more clear?
3 Define the useful information for the specific neighbor
4 Pattern ?????!!!!!

Here is the tag test short video.when people pass the object which set in the hallway,they may want to get sense by recall the same pattern which already exist in the website. so i try the same Tetris pattern in physical test. I choose 3 tags and everyone shows different layout when it touch the reader.there are also many possibility to present the information for users.

WEEK-10 Prototyping plans

This week we go through into the detail operation of physical computing workshop.I feel it not that hard than Processing.Now I can make my Led blinking by moving Tag.I think that is a good start for the workshop in next week.

Concept
After talking with tutors, I got some inspiration for my main project. I pick some keywords and put them into my concept.
Website-Abstract-Feeling-Pass by-Feedback The processing start with a specific website .People who lived in same building can put their information or discussion into that website.
When I collected the data from quick workshop last time, I found all these information show the mood of the presenter.For instance the Proposal means active,happy,exciting and caring.Complain means annoying,angry,boring.and Inform means some neutral emotion.Those emotion can also be considered as the whole building's feeling.
An object which transformer that feeling by abstract patterns.it suppose to set nearby the elevator that people can pass by and also stick to interact.the original state is lay out the general emotion of the whole building.
Every residents has their own card which can use to check information that separate by different tags like GROUP or PERSONAL.the object will notice some problem by changing patterns.
According to that feedback by people to put their card on the reflect area,they can go to website to get detail explain by text message and handle them on time. If the problem was leave there for long time,the pattern of object will fade partial into background .Once all pattern disappear, the object will died.

Prototyping plans
For output,I think i will focus on the feedback when the card touch that object.
how to show the emotion ? by color? frequency?
Should it be a pattern or something else? light? voice? wind? temperature?
……
For input,I prefer to use Rfid Tag card and give them a function by edit code.

WEEK9-WORKSHOP

On this Thursday i arranged a workshop with Kyrre,Gunnar and Natacha. The main purpose for this workshop is to collect the data for the next design.I tried to make a questionnaire and quick sketch for my group member to create the data for my neighborhood relationship study.Because I already narrow down my design to focus on specific area like APARTMENT BUILDING.so my aim is to find out more possible situation to display and interact with information and improve it to service for people who live in same architecture.
From that quick workshop,i got many useful advices from the members, which help me a lot to get closer to the implementation.The main idea of how to display the information is to use the 'message board'. Except the classical bulletin board with sticked paper notes, however, other types of message board with different information media, like voice, LED, and RFID, could be used as possible solutions.Meanwhile, there are also different media platforms to show the interaction, such as the radio network, the intranet, the interphone, or a physical object. After the discussion, instead of the virtual service, we decided to use the real object, which could give the users more experiences.
